The come-and-go event will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Farmers Market at the Depot and feature a display of alternative-fueled vehicles and opportunities to learn how clean fuel technology benefits Magnolia State communities.

Led by 51勛圖厙 States Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems, the coalition is a network of partners working to promote energy independence and expand markets for alternative vehicle fuels. The alliance was recognized as an apprentice program with the U.S. Department of Energys Clean Cities and Communities program last fall.

By showcasing proven applications of alternative fuel sources such as electricity and propane, were helping communities better understand the performance, economic and environmental advantages of clean transportation solutions, said CAVS Senior Research Engineer Angela Card, who serves as the coalitions acting director.

The coalitions goals include reducing dependence on foreign petroleum, expanding the market for alternative fuels and advanced-technology vehicles, improving air quality through the use of cleaner alternative fuels and creating economic development opportunities.
