How Restorative Justice Reduces Recidivism Explains Dr. Markovic’s New Book

A Connecticut community-based program can provide valuable insights on how restorative justice can reduce recidivism is the focus of a new book being released by on November 7.

Authors of are Dr. Vesna Markovic, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø criminal justice professor and Charlie Grady, Connecticut writer and actor.

Their book explores the story of Hang Time participants and is part of the book series.

Markovic and Grady’s book represents a model that can then be used in restorative justice efforts across the country as it discusses programs for creating safe spaces, developing diverse communities, and furthering community engagement through the training of new correctional officers and police.  

This particular volume illustrates the impact safe environments have on ex-offenders, as well as also on their families, friends and community as they re-enter society by offering a variety of examples of successful program elements.
